Strategy 4: Providing Additional Resources

Why do this?

This method gives students more resources to work with and can clarify challenging concepts. With additional materials, students can also grapple with course content on their own, providing many ways for a student to metabolize and understand information to better realize and reinforce their learning goals. These resources can also be helpful for studying and for students interested in learning more than the course material covers.

How do I do this?

If there are videos (captioned), magazine/journal articles, or websites that are relevant to the content you are discussing, post them on your Moodle/course site. This can be as simple as keeping a document with the resources you find while creating the course to later provide to your students. You could also provide an “extra help” and “further learning” section on your course site for these materials. Adding links to class slides--if the slides are posted online for students--is a great way for students to find additional material related to a particular topic.
